“Who am I today?” I ask..
And I wonder if I even know.
I know the past has shaped me now,
Even though the past was long ago.

The little moments form a blur,
The times both happy and sad,
All the people I once knew,
And the things I used to have.

They all helped me to become
Where, what and who I am now,
Because everything has influenced me,
I’m not sure exactly how.

But I’m thankful for the memories,
Even of the people I’ve never really met,
For the people I miss, the people I love,
And even the people I’d like to
forget.

For these memories have helped me grow,
They’ve made me calm, yet strong,
And now there’s a story to my life,
That they’ve been writing all along.

So, thank you for the memories.
Without them, I don’t know who I’d be –
Because somewhere among these memories
Are the things that define me.

The Baby and I

In a previous post, I mentioned about Sergei’s and Oksana’s newborn son (these proud parents still have to think of a nice name for their adorable baby, their second child).

I just finished uploading additional baby photos on my Flickr Pro account. Please check out my Flickr photos here.

I’m Up for It!

The last two weeks of May have been a good time for me, not only just to prepare for the upcoming summer activities in the church but also to spend some quality time with God.

In my quiet times with the Lord, I always get renewed and become more focused on His calling in my life. One question that God recently posed to me was: “Sarita, are you up for it?”

God was not only asking me if “I’m up for it?” in my physical, mental, emotional levels. But He was asking me about my spirituality. I then had to stop, think and meditate on this challenging question that God presented to me. Deep in my heart, I know that God wants me to proceed to the next level of my faith…to the next level of my trust in, submission to, and dependence on Him. And I’m confident that He has something BIG in store for me — if not this year, later. And this makes me more watchful of my steps in my Christian walk, and more focused on Him everyday as He works in and through me as I do His task of ministering to the people that He has called me to serve here in Ukraine.

I believe that this question will always remind me everyday to check and double-check my heart so that when the time comes for God to move me to the next level, then I would be up for it — whatever it is that He wants me to do for His Kingdom.

Have a blessed weekend, everyone! 🙂

PHOTO: The church team behind last year's summer kids' camp.

We, the core team helping out in the church's summer kids' camp and I, started meeting two weeks ago to discuss the necessary preparations for this year's kids' camp. We are shceduled to meet again this Sunday.

We had a good response during the first meeting. More people volunteered this time around and more ideas from these enthusiastic volunteers were laid out on the table. It was really great to see the locals getting involved and attending to this kids' camp ministry as a united church. Praise God for that!

I'm sure God will bless us with more ideas and will raise up more volunteers for this camp. We are currently raising funds (USD1,500) to make it all happen, with God's help. Please do pray for this project. Spaseeba! (Thank you!)

They came, they had fun, they had fellowship with other children, and in the process, they got to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

That is what the yearly summer kids’ camp  is all about.

“Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19: 14, New Living Translation)
